How do I change the title of my page?

You can edit your page title just like any other content on your page — just click on the text you want to change, then use your editing toolbar and keyboard to change whatever you like (learn more about editing).

A page title appears in the body of a page in its own content area. Each page can have its own title. In fact, we recommend choosing a unique title for each page.

A page title

Your page title is also included in your page's title tag, and will appear not only on your page but also at the top of the web browser screen when that page is viewed, and in a visitor's bookmarks menu, if he decides to bookmark your site.

More important, search engines use titles to index web sites, and often display them in search engine results. To make your page most appealing to search engines, we recommend that you limit your page title to 67 characters and do not include images in the page title area.

Hint: Your page title and the name of your page in your site menu (navigation bar) can be different. To change the name of your page in the site menu, use the Manage Pages dialog. Learn how.

Please note that not every layout includes room for a page title. To display a page title, or to edit the title that appears in your title tag, click the Change Layout button and select a layout that includes a title, then edit the page title as needed.

Layouts

To hide the page title on your page, select a layout that does not include a title.
