Changes to Your Service

In December 2007 or January 2008, to provide the best service for all of our hosting customers, we will replace your Website Services plan with a new and improved Yahoo! Web Hosting plan.

With your new Web Hosting plan, you'll not only gain features and tools but also pay less (you'll save $36 a year!). Learn more about Web Hosting.

Despite these benefits, we understand that this change may inconvenience some of our customers, but we hope to make the transition as easy as possible. Please read on for important details about your new service.

Accessing Your New Service
To use your new plan, you will need your Yahoo! ID and password. You signed up for a Yahoo! ID and password when you set up your Website Services plan. If you don't remember your Yahoo! ID or password, please visit our reminder page now for assistance.

After the switch, instead of signing in to your Website Services console, you'll access your tools and manage your account by signing in to your Web Hosting Control Panel using your Yahoo! ID and password.

How Changing Plans Affects You
During the switch to Yahoo! Web Hosting, you will not experience any interruption in your hosting service, and your web site, files, and account information will remain intact. We'll also replace your current email service with the more powerful Yahoo! Business Email.

Please note, however, that your existing email addresses and messages will not be transferred automatically to your new service. To avoid losing important messages and prevent email from "bouncing" (returning to their senders) during this transition, complete these two steps:

  • Immediately: Set up POP access to save messages received before the switch, and to receive email during the transition.
  • When your service changes: Re-create your existing email addresses with your new email tools within seven days of the switch to your new service.

We'll send you an email when the switch is complete.

Set Up POP
If you haven't already, please be sure to set up POP access to your account using a mail program on your computer. POP is the quickest, easiest way to save your existing emails, and will allow you to receive new messages during the transition to your new service.

Learn how to set up POP.

Re-creating Your Email Addresses
When we switch your service, your existing email tools will be deactivated. At that time, you'll need to prepare your new service to receive email by re-creating your existing, active email addresses with your new tools.

To help you avoid losing incoming emails during the transition, we'll continue to route messages to your old account for seven days (you can use POP to receive this mail). After seven days, we'll disable your old email service and reroute your emails to your new Business Mail addresses.

Please be sure to re-create any active email addresses with your new tools as soon as you receive notice that your switch is complete.

You can reach your Business Mail tools by signing in to your new control panel and clicking the Email tab. Learn how to set up Business Mail.

When the transition to your new email service is complete, you can continue to use POP to manage your email and transfer saved messages to your new service, but you will need to change your POP settings.

Terms of Service
Before you begin using your new plan, please review the Yahoo! Small Business Consolidated Terms of Service, which reflects recent enhancements to our products and services. Your continued use of Yahoo! Small Business after the switch to your new service constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

To ensure uninterrupted service, we also recommend that you visit our billing center and verify that your payment information is up-to-date (you'll need to sign in with your Yahoo! ID and password).
