When I try to preview my site or click a link to an online web page, I sometimes get an error. Why?

This is a known issue related to the Internet Explorer (IE) web browser. IE sometimes has trouble understanding the instructions sent when you preview or click on certain links. When IE can't understand the preview or link information, it will display an error message instead of displaying the content you requested.

To remedy this problem, we recommend using Mozilla Firefox as your computer's default browser. When you preview or click links to sites outside of SiteBuilder, the expected new window will open in Firefox instead of IE, thus avoiding the IE-specific error.

You can download Firefox for free.

To set Firefox as your default browser:
  1. Launch Firefox.

  2. Click the Tools menu.

  3. Select Preferences.

  4. Click the Advanced item near the upper-right of the window.

  5. Click the Check Now button, located in the lower-right of the General sub-tab.

  6. When asked whether to make Firefox your default browser, click Yes.

You should no longer have issues with previews or links.
