You can use SiteBuilder to continue working on a Yahoo! web site you created using another tool, such as Yahoo! PageBuilder or your own site building software, such as Microsoft FrontPage.

The web site must be stored in your Web Hosting or Merchant Solutions account. You can import a web site that you've created outside of Yahoo! by uploading those site files to your Web Hosting or Merchant Solutions account with FTP, then importing those files into SiteBuilder using the steps above. When you import a site into SiteBuilder using the Import tool, you'll copy the files and organization of a site you have already stored online in your Yahoo! account to a SiteBuilder site folder on your local computer. Your files must be saved to this special folder to ensure that SiteBuilder can interpret your files properly.

You'll be able to import your files into the folder of a site you've already created with SiteBuilder (either a site you currently have open or another site stored on your computer) or create a new site folder in which to store the imported site.

Importing your site will download all files associated with that site — HTML pages, images, audio clips, and any other site elements (excluding .sql files) — to your computer. After you successfully import a site, you can work on it with SiteBuilder the way you'd work with any other site. Then, when you're ready, you can publish the site back to your Yahoo! account. Please be advised that SiteBuilder offers only limited support for web sites incorporating HTML and/or other programming languages. If any web pages in your web site were not originally built with SiteBuilder or Yahoo! PageBuilder, SiteBuilder will import those pages without modifying them. If you choose to use SiteBuilder to modify these pages, SiteBuilder will do its best to interpret the pages correctly, preserving their original content, formatting, and layout. However, you should be sure to check all of your pages carefully for errors before saving.

Please note also that the web site stored in your Yahoo! account will not be affected when you import it to SiteBuilder. You'll damage your site only if you republish pages containing errors or other problems, so please be sure to check your pages carefully.
