Naming Your Home Page

Your home page is the first page your visitors see when they go to your web site. Each web site needs a home page.

The file that generates your home page (or index page) is the file named index.html. In order for the home page you created to appear, your home page file must be named index.html.

To check, look in the Site Contents pane on the right side of your SiteBuilder control panel. Your home page is accompanied by the label home page.

You can also identify a page you're editing as your home page by looking for the small Home image in that page's tab at the top of the design pane.

If your home page is not called index.html, rename that page to ensure that visitors can see your site.
A site without a properly named home page cannot be found by going to the domain name on the internet.

When you create a site with the Site Creation Wizard, SiteBuilder will automatically name your home page file index.html. If you have imported a web site you created elsewhere, check the file name and rename it if needed.
