When you create a web page, you save it in your Site Contents folder with a file name. The file name of your "About Us" page, for example, could be "about.html." A page's file name becomes part of the web address (or URL) your site visitors can use to find that page on the Internet after you publish. Your "About Us" page, for example, could be found at http://www.yourdomain.com/about.html.
When you rename a page, you change its file name. (Renaming a page will not affect the page title or other content you may have placed on the page.) You can rename a web page anytime — changing "about.html" to "aboutus.html," for example.
A web address must conform to certain standards in order to work on the Internet. Since the name of your file becomes part of your page's web address, its file name can contain only letters, numbers, underscores, dashes, and periods. If your file name includes other characters (like this: %new!page*name@), Yahoo! SiteBuilder will prompt you to enter a new one. Please make sure to use only standard characters in your page names.
Please note that in order to display at your domain when you publish, your home page must be named "index.html." If you have created a home page file with another name ("home.html" or "main.html," for example), be sure to rename your file before you publish, or your home page will not display at your domain.
To rename a web page you have already created:
Note: If any other pages in your site refer to the file you have renamed, Yahoo! SiteBuilder will automatically update those pages. You'll be able to confirm any updates in the Update Site? dialog after you rename the page.
