Adding a Template Web Page

A template page is based on one of SiteBuilder's predesigned templates. Template pages generally include a background image or color, a distinct area in which you can place your navigation bar, images, and sample content (only a blank template page will not include sample content). These pages provide a convenient way to create a unified look for your web site — and you can edit every element of a template page just as you'd customize a blank page.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+N

To add a template web page:

  1. From the File menu, select New Page, then With Template.
  2. In the Add New Page dialog, select a template category from the Categories: menu.

  3. From the templates area, choose a template by clicking it once.

  4. To preview the template, click the View Full Size button on the right side of the dialog.
  5. After you have selected a template, use the pull-down menu on the lower-right side of the dialog to choose the type of page you'd like to add.
  6. Click Add Page.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+N to launch the Add New Page dialog, which will allow you to add either a blank or a template page. Learn more about adding a blank page.

Note: Templates you have already downloaded to your computer are marked with a small check. Feel free to choose a template you have not yet downloaded: SiteBuilder will alert you that this template is not yet available and attempt to connect to the Yahoo! servers so that you can download the template and associated clip art.

You can download new templates and clip art anytime. Learn more.
