Use the List Box form element to allow your web site visitors to select a response (or multiple responses) from a pull-down menu or scrollable list.

To add a list box to a web page:

1. Go to the "Insert" menu.

2. Click the "Forms and Form Elements" link.

3. Select "List Box."

4. Enter a name for this list box (for example,"Size") in the "Name:" field. Click the Add button to create the first selection in the list.

5. Enter the text that will represent the selection in the Text column.

6. Enter the value for the selection in the Value column.

7. Click the Add button and enter values for each selection in the list.

8. Click the "Selected" checkbox next to any item or items you would like to be highlighted by default on your web page (if any).

9. To change the order of your list, click on a selection to highlight it, then click Up or Down to change its position. To remove a selection, click on it once to highlight it, then choose Remove.

10. If you would like your web site visitors to be able to choose more than one selection, click the "Permit multiple selections" checkbox.

If you would like your list box to appear to your web site visitors as a pull-down menu, resize the list box so that only the top selection is visible. (If you chose "Permit multiple selections," your list box must appear as a scrollable list.)

Note: The name and values you enter will not be visible to your web site visitors. They are simply used to help you identify the information you receive when a form is submitted to you. Assigning a different name to each list box you include on a page will make it easier for you to understand the form responses you receive.
