How do I set up FTP access for a user account?

Giving a user account FTP access to your site means that you will allow anyone using this account to upload files to the particular area of your site you designate. To set up FTP access for a user account:

  1. Open the Password Manager by clicking the corresponding link on the Manage or Index tab of your Web Hosting Control Panel.
  2. If you'd like to assign FTP access to a new user account, create the new user account now.
  3. Locate the user name of the account to which you'd like to grant FTP access. In the right column next to that user name, click the "Enable FTP Access" link.

The user account now has FTP access to your entire site. To restrict this account's access to a particular section of your site, click the "Change Access Point" link in the right column next to that user name, under the "FTP Access Point" heading. On the following page, you'll be able to create a new directory or select a current directory. Click the "Choose Directory" link next to the directory to which you want to limit this user account's FTP access.
