When you activate Movable Type using the custom path, you'll have the option to turn on Yahoo! blog statistics for your account; if you choose the standard path, we activate statistics for your blog automatically. With Yahoo! blog statistics activated, you'll be able to review basic statistics, including page views, visitor profiles, and referrers, for your Movable Type blog the same way you can review Site Statistics reports about other pages in your site.

To view your Site Statistics reports:

1. Sign in to your Web Hosting Control Panel.
2. On the Home tab, in the Site Activity module, you can review the Page View Summary and daily page views for the past seven days. For more statistics, click the "Site Statistics" link.
3. You'll see the directory structure of your web site.
   • To view the statistics for a different directory, click the directory name. You'll see the total page views for that directory at the top of the page.
   • To view detailed site statistics for a specific page, click the "Stats" link next to that page's name (to view the page itself, select its name).
4. On the following page, you'll see your Summary report as well as a list of your other reports. To view a report, select its name.

Important: To view statistics for your blog, click the directory in which you have installed your Movable Type blog files. Even if you have made your blog the home page of your site, statistics for your blog will be recorded in the blog files directory, not your main site directory. Learn more about your installation directories.

Please note, however, that the Site Statistics feature will generate reports about only your blog home page. To learn more about activity on other pages of your blog, we recommend installing the optional StatWatch plug-in for Movable Type, which tracks statistics for your entire blog, including hit and referrer counts, search engine phrase counts, and more. StatWatch complements the basic site statistics reports you'll find in your Web Hosting Control Panel.

You'll have the option to enable StatWatch when you activate Movable Type using the custom path; you can also install StatWatch and review your StatWatch reports anytime by visiting the Plugins area of your Movable Type control panel. Learn more.
