In most cases, a Movable Type package breaks due to files having been deleted in the Movable Type installation directory. If you inadvertently move or delete any Movable Type files, we recommend using the Snapshot Backups utility to restore your broken directory. Please note that none of your recorded data will be lost.
If this remedy fails or the tool displays a "Database Error" message, the Movable Type database may have become corrupted. In this case, try using the MySQL database repair feature. Click the "MySQL Database" link on the Create & Update tab of your Web Hosting Control Panel, then choose the "Repair Database" link on the left side of the page.
As a last resort, try activating Movable Type again. If your database is intact, you may be able to use phpMyAdmin to move the database information from your current blog into the database created when you activate Movable Type again. For help with phpMyAdmin, please visit the phpMyAdmin Project. For detailed assistance working with your Movable Type database, please see the Movable Type support site.
