After you activate Movable Type, you'll manage your blog from your Movable Type control panel. From these administration pages you can add new posts to your blog, manage links and archives, edit your plug-ins, and more. We've made it easy to access your administration tools from your Web Hosting Control Panel.

Blog Manager
Your Blog Manager contains links to often-used pages in your Movable Type control panel as well as additional links you can use to modify certain settings related to your blog, such as your upgrade method. To reach your Blog Manager:

1. Sign in to your Web Hosting Control Panel.
2. Visit the Manage tab.
3. In the first module, click the "Blog Manager" link.
4. On the following page, locate the module that corresponds with the blog you'd like to manage. In this module you'll find links to your control panel, from which you can add a new post, manage comments, and edit your blog settings, as well as your upgrade method and other useful information.

Movable Type Control Panel
We recommend taking advantage of the convenience of Blog Manager to access your blog control panel, but you can also sign in to your Movable Type control panel directly anytime. To sign in to your console, enter the path to the folder we created to store your blog administration files. Unless you renamed it, this folder is based on the name of your blog files directory, which you choose during activation. For instance, if you install your blog files in directory myblog, we'll create an administration files directory called myblog-mt; if you install in default directory blog1, your administration files will be stored in new directory blog-mt1.

You can review the name of this second directory in your Blog Manager, at the top of the module that corresponds with your blog.

To reach your Movable Type control panel, enter your domain name and then the administration directory name in your browser. Your control panel web address will look something like this:
