If your root web or one or more subwebs become deactivated after when you reset your extensions, the root web or subwebs may not have had any authors assigned to them.
Please note that the FrontPage reset function can reactivate only those directories to which authors have been assigned. If you remove all of the authors assigned to your root web or a particular subweb before resetting, this directory will be deactivated but not reactivated during the reset process.
If your root web has become deactivated, you will need to activate FrontPage publishing again. You can also reactivate a subweb anytime. Learn how.
