How can I deactivate all FrontPage publishing?

If you want to remove publishing privileges for all authors on your site, and you no longer plan to publish your site with FrontPage, you may want to deactivate FrontPage publishing. Deactivating will eliminate FrontPage publishing access to your site while preserving the directory and its contents in your hosting account.

You can also deactivate FrontPage publishing for individual subwebs. Learn how.

Please note that deactivating deletes all FrontPage extensions from your account. Although your pages and other files will be undamaged, certain functionality related to those extensions could fail, causing errors on your pages. Please be sure to review your site carefully after you deactivate.

To deactivate FrontPage publishing in your entire site:

1. From the Create & Update tab of your Web Hosting Control Panel, click "FrontPage."

2. Click the "Manage Publishing" link.

3. Click the "Deactivate Publishing" button.

4. If you're sure you want to deactivate FrontPage publishing, choose "Deactivate Publishing."

If you're not sure you want to deactivate your site (and delete your extensions), you might prefer to disable your directories. Disabling FrontPage authoring temporarily shuts down your FrontPage extensions and prevents anyone with access to your subwebs from modifying your site. Learn more.
