Can I disable publishing in an individual subweb?

No. You can temporarily suspend FrontPage publishing privileges only for your entire site. If you'd like to suspend FrontPage publishing in an individual subweb, we recommend unassigning all authors in that subweb. When you're ready to restore publishing privileges in that directory, you can return to the subweb and reassign the appropriate authors. Learn how.

You can disable FrontPage publishing in your site from either the Manage Site or Manage Publishing areas of your FrontPage console.

1. From the Create & Update tab of your Web Hosting Control Panel, click "FrontPage."

2. Click the "Manage Site" or "Manage Publishing" link.

3. In the Manage Site area, locate your root web and click the "Disable all" link to the right of the root web name. In the Manage Publishing section, choose "Disable All."

4. If you're sure you want to temporarily suspend all FrontPage publishing in your site, choose "Disable All."

When you're ready to restore publishing access to your site, return to the Manage Site area and click the "Enable all" link next to your root web, or visit the Manage Publishing area and click "Enable Publishing."
