What happens when I delete an author?

Your FrontPage author list is synchronized with your Password Manager, so anyone to whom you've granted password or FTP access to your site will also appear in your list of available FrontPage authors. When you add an author for FrontPage publishing, the new author will also appear in your Password Manager.

When you delete an author in the FrontPage console, then, you will also delete that author from the master list of users you have created for your hosting account. A deleted author will no longer have FrontPage publishing privileges, password access, or FTP access to your site, and this author will no longer appear in your list of available authors or in your Password Manager user list. Be sure before you delete an author that you want to eliminate that author's access to every part of your site.

Remember that you can also simply remove an author's FrontPage publishing privileges by unassigning that author in subwebs to which he's been assigned. Unassigning an author prevents him from using FrontPage to publish to your site but allows you to grant the author password and FTP access, and to reassign him to a subweb later without having to re-create the author account.
