If your site or store design and functional elements do not rely on FrontPage extensions, and you had previously used FrontPage only to publish and manage your site, you can use FTP to publish your existing pages.
However, most FrontPage sites rely on extensions at least in part to support certain interactive features (forms, counters) and even design (iframes, dynamic templates), and may use extensions to power site-management features like automatic link updates.
We recommend that all FrontPage users switch to a new publishing tool.
For Web Hosting customers, we suggest Yahoo! Site Solution, our most popular design tool. Site Solution requires no technical expertise and includes free professional site designs, PayPal buttons, photo galleries, and interactive features like audio, video, and customizable contact forms. You'll be able to get a professional site up and running in no time.
We encourage Merchant Solutions customers to take advantage of our most powerful ecommerce features by switching to the Store Editor. Store Editor offers flexible design options, customizable navigation, and more, to make building your store easier than ever.
We regret that Yahoo! Small Business tools do not include an automated way to import your web site or store content. To move your site or store to a Yahoo! publishing tool, you'll need to copy your text, images, and other files, and re-create your pages and site organization.
You can use most other third-party publishing tools with both Web Hosting and Merchant Solutions plans. Popular options include Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe GoLive, and for blogs, WordPress.
Some FrontPage users have reported excellent results importing their FrontPage web sites into the Microsoft design tool Expression Web. Expression Web may provide the most seamless transition from FrontPage to another publishing tool. To learn more or try Expression Web, please visit the Microsoft web site.
Please note that third-party tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver and Microsoft Expression Web must be purchased separately.
Advanced users: Please note that at this time we do not support any Microsoft server-side technologies, such as FrontPage extensions and Active Server Pages, and do not currently allow you to upload your own .htaccess file.
Have a Developer Build Your Site or Store
If you're not ready to tackle a new tool yourself, consider hiring a developer to help.
Available to Web Hosting customers for a one-time fee, the Logoworks by HP Site Design service is the quickest way to launch a professional-looking site. With this convenient service, provided by our partners at Logoworks by HP, you'll get a five-page site, complete with your own business information and five stock photos. Learn more about Logoworks.
For Merchant Solutions customers, we recommend our Yahoo! Merchant Solutions Developer Network, where you can find the right developer for your business, no matter what your budget.
