JavaScript is a scripting language that works with your browser to create interactive elements in web pages. The dynamic tools and online editing features of Yahoo! Site Solution and certain other tools depend on JavaScript to function properly.
Most browsers allow JavaScript by default, but if you're having trouble using Site Solution or another tool that uses JavaScript, you may simply need to change the JavaScript setting in your browser. (Don't worry - you don't have to download anything.) Select your browser from the following below to turn on JavaScript:
Firefox (Windows):
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Click the Content tab.
- Select both the Enable JavaScript and Enable Java options.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch your browser.
Firefox (Mac):
- In your browser's Firefox menu, click Preferences.
- Click the Content tab.
- Select both the Enable JavaScript and Enable Java options.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch your browser.
Google Chrome:
- Launch Google Chrome from Start/Run with the parameter -enable-JavaScript.
For example, in Vista: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -enable-JavaScript
For example, in Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome -enable-JavaScript
- Note: JavaScript is enabled in Chrome by default. This will reset the default parameters.
Internet Explorer 7 or 8:
- In your browser's Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click the Custom Level button.
- Scroll down until you find the section called Scripting.
- In the Scripting section, click the Enable button under Active Scripting.
- Click OK, then OK again.
- Close and relaunch your browser.
Internet Explorer 9.0:
- Open IE 9.0, and select Tools > Manage Add-ons.
NOTE: If you do not see a menu bar with "File", "Edit", "View", etc, then click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your browser window and select "Manage add-ons..."
- Then make sure the pull-down menu at the top reflects Show: Currently loaded add-ons.
- Select J2SE Runtime Environment or Java within the main pane, and at the bottom-right of the Manage Add-ons window
- Click the Enable button.
- Click Close.
- Close and relaunch your browser.
If you cannot locate J2SE Runtime Environment or Java within the main pane, please reinstall Java , and then conduct the above troubleshooting steps
Safari:
- Click the Safari menu on a Macintosh, click on the Edit menu on a Windowsbased computer, select Preferences.
- Click Security.
- Select the Enable JavaScript option.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch your browser.
