What are add-ons, and what can they do for my web page?

With Yahoo! PageBuilder, you can easily add interactive and dynamic items to your web page that would normally take hours of programming.

To add an add-on to your page, do the following:

  1. Click the "Add-ons" button in the toolbar. A window titled "Add cool stuff to your page" will open.
  2. Select a Category from the left-hand frame.
  3. Select an add-on from the right-hand frame, and the add-on will be added to your page. If the add-on needs to be configured, a dialog box will open where you can change the settings and options.

PageBuilder's library of add-ons are organized into the following categories:

  • Basics -- Add common items, such as text, pictures, background, background music, and a counter.
  • Page Effects -- Add page effects to your page, such as page transitions, cursor tails, and bouncing pictures.
  • Instant Info -- Add informative items like Yahoo! Stock Quotes, Yahoo! Weather, or Yahoo! Maps.
  • Interactive -- Let visitors know that you're online, create a guestbook, and more.
  • Headlines - Put up-to-the-minute news headlines on your page. They update automatically and cover the globe.
  • Yahooligans -- Link to some of your favorite sites on Yahooligans, such as Ask Earl, This Day in History, Jokes, and Daily Trivia.
  • Forms and Scripts -- Adding forms to your web page can be a long and troublesome process, but with these add-ons, it's easy.
