Enabling and Disabling Risk Tools on Checkout

You can decide to enable or disable Risk Tools according to your own preferences. Note: Risk Tools are not automatically enabled for any store. You need to specifically enable Risk Tools, which are only available to merchants using the new checkout flow.

To enable Risk Tools:

  1. From the Store Manager, click "Risk Tools".
  2. Click "Settings".
  3. Select the "Yes, enable Risk Tools" checkbox.
  4. Enter an order minimum.
  5. Select your AVS and CVV Rules.
  6. Click "Update".
  7. Click the "Store Manager" link.
  8. Click "Publish Order Settings" to publish your changes to your site.

You can always disable Risk Tools or set an order minimum to apply your rules only to transactions at or above a certain amount.

To disable Risk Tools:

  1. From the Store Manager, click "Risk Tools".
  2. Click "Settings".
  3. Clear the "Yes, enable Risk Tools" checkbox.
  4. Click "Update".
  5. Click the "Store Manager" link.
  6. Click "Publish Order Settings" to publish your changes live to your site.

Notes:

  • You must have your online payment processing set to perform real-time authorizations in order to use AVS and CVV Rules to flag orders based on response codes as part of Risk Tools. Without real-time authorization, Risk Tools cannot check the address and card verification value provided by customers during checkout. View instructions for enabling real-time authorization of orders.
  • Risk Tools will not work if you have auto-charge enabled as orders will be authorized and settled without any chance to review orders marked as pending review. Learn more.

Learn more about what you and your customers will see with Risk Tools enabled.

Note: Yahoo! provides Risk Tools to Yahoo! Store merchants for informational purposes only and does not represent or warrant that merchant use of Risk Tools will reduce or eliminate fraudulent or bad credit or debit card transactions initiated by their store customers.
