Risk Tools allow you to configure rules for flagging transactions based on AVS and CVV Rules set by you. As a merchant, you can choose to enable or disable Risk Tools for your store. You can set an Order Minimum at which all orders will be processed according to AVS Rules and CVV Rules you set.
You can configure AVS Rules to flag or accept orders based on address and zip/postal code matches or when the system or AVS is unavailable or not supported for the card. Likewise you can set CVV Rules to flag, or accept orders based on if the card security code matches or if the system or CVV is unavailable or not supported for the card.
Effective March 6, 2008, CID (Card Identification) codes used by American Express credit cards are also supported. Merchants who accept American Express as a payment method and wish to activate CID verification for their store must first contact their American Express account manager. Learn more.
Note that the issuing bank for the credit card entered determines which response code will be sent, not FDMS, the Yahoo! Store payment processor or Yahoo! Store. As such, one issuing bank may send a decline response code while another may send an invalid response code. This can lead to certain orders being declined from certain issuing banks but as this happens before Risk Tools rules are applied, there is nothing you can do as a merchant except suggest another card type.
Risk Tools are available to all Merchant Solutions and Legacy Store merchants using the new checkout flow. Your store must use the new checkout flow in order to enable Risk Tools. Enable the new checkout flow for your store prior to enabling Risk Tools.
