Setting a Minimum Order Amount for AVS and CVV Rules

The Order Minimum field allows you to enter an amount for which all transactions at or above the AVS and CVV Rules will apply. For example, if you are worried about the risk involved with orders over $250, then you should enter $250 into the Order Minimum field. All orders below this amount will not have the rules applied but all orders at or above will have all rules applied. If you leave the Order Minimum field blank, all orders will be processed according to the rules you have set. Use your own experience as a merchant to determine the minimum level at which you wish to apply these rules. New merchants may wish to apply these rules to all orders and then personally follow up with the customer or issuing bank to verify the cardholder is valid.

To set an Order Minimum:

  1. From the Store Manager, click "Risk Tools".
  2. Click "Settings".
  3. Enter an amount at which you wish to apply AVS and CVV Rules:
    • Enter $0 if you wish to apply AVS and CVV Rules to all transactions
    • Enter a specific dollar amount at which to apply AVS and CVV Rules
  4. Click [Update].
  5. Click the "Store Manager" link.
  6. Click "Publish Order Settings" to make your changes live on your site.

Note: You must publish your Order Settings in order for your most recent changes to be applied to your live site. If you do not see your changes, click "Publish Order Settings" from the Store Manager.

Note: Yahoo! provides Risk Tools to Yahoo! Store merchants for informational purposes only and does not represent or warrant that merchant use of Risk Tools will reduce or eliminate fraudulent or bad credit or debit card transactions initiated by their store customers.
