The Start and End Date fields are optional. They can be useful if you have a seasonal cross-sell offer that you'd like to run during a set period, or if you have a cross-sell offer that is related to a sale or special offer you're running for a limited time.

You can add or edit start and end dates either manually in the Cross-Sell Manager, or by editing a cross-sell CSV file and then uploading the file.

To manually set a Cross-Sell Start and End Date to a rule:

1. From the Cross-Sell Manager, click the "Edit" link for the Selected Item where you wish to add dates.
2. Enter a start date in the Start Date textbox in the format MM/DD/YYYY (for example to set a start date of December 1st 2004, you would enter 12/01/2004).
3. Enter an end date in the End Date textbox in the format MM/DD/YYYY (for example to set an end date of December 24th 2004, you would enter 12/24/2004).
4. Click the "Modify Entry" button.

The new start and end dates appear for the purchase item that was edited.

To set Cross-Sell Start and End Dates to a rule in a table:

1. From the Cross-Sell Manager, click "Download Table" to download the most recent set of rules. If you have local copies of your table, you can also edit that table but you will want to choose "Add" rather than "Rebuild" so only edits to the modified entries are added.
2. Open the CSV file in your spreadsheet application.
3. Enter a start date in the Start Date cell for the purchase item in the format MM/DD/YYYY (for example to set a start date of December 1st 2004, you would enter 12/01/2004).
4. Enter an end date in the End Date cell for the purchase item in the format MM/DD/YYYY (for example to set an end date of December 24th 2004, you would enter 12/24/2004).
5. Save the changes to the CSV file.
6. Upload the file with the changes.
