Cross-Sell on your cart page

When an online shopper adds a product (selected item--see Figure 1, A) that has associated cross-sell items to their shopping cart, they will see the number of cross-sell items (see Figure 1, B) in a merchandising section directly under the shopping cart. If you have defined special discounts for the cross-sell items, then both the regular and special prices will appear along with the product image and description of each item.

You can select as many items as you like to cross-sell with a given "Selected Item," and select the number of items to display at one time on the shopping cart page, up to a maximum of one hundred. The order in which cross-sell items appear is determined by the number of cross-sell items or by the value of the "Code" field of the cross-sell items:

• If you select more than one hundred items, a set of one hundred will be randomly chosen and displayed each time a shopper puts that "Selected Item" in their cart.
• If you select less cross-sell items for a selected item, the order will be determined by the value of the "Code" field of the cross-sell items with items ordered alphabetically 0-9, A-Z.
• If you are using auto-suggest in combination with Cross-Sell rules, items with rules will be displayed first, followed by auto-suggest recommendations.

Shoppers can add the product directly to their cart with a single click or visit the item page for more detail.

Cross-Sell on product detail pages (stores using Checkout Manager only)

When an online shopper views a product (selected item) that has associated cross-sell items, they will see the number of cross-sell items in a merchandising section on the product detail page. Placement of the merchandising section, and if it displayed horizontally or vertically on the page, is determined by a store's cross-sell display settings. If you have defined special discounts for the cross-sell items, then both the regular and special prices will appear along with the product image and description of each item.

You can select as many items as you'd like to cross-sell with a given "Selected Item," and choose the number of items to display at one time on the product detail page, up to a maximum of six. The order in which cross-sell items appear is determined by the number of cross-sell items or by the value of the "Code" field of the cross-sell items:

• If you select more than six items, a set of six will be randomly chosen and displayed each time a shopper views the selected item's product detail page.
• If you select less cross-sell items for a selected item, the order will be determined by the value of the "Code" field of the cross-sell items with items ordered alphabetically 0-9, A-Z.
• If you are using auto-suggest in combination with Cross-Sell rules, items with rules will be displayed first, followed by auto-suggest recommendations.

Cross-sell text ("header")

You can edit the text that appears above the cross-sell items. Where this text can be modified depends on the checkout flow you are using:

• If Checkout Manager is disabled (also called checkout version 1 and 2, or old and new checkout): edit the Cross-sell text variable in the Store Editor.
• If Checkout Manager is enabled: edit the "Cross-Sell Text" field in the Cross-Sell Manager.

To change the Cross-sell text in the Store Editor:

1. From the Store Manager, click the Store Editor link.
2. Click the "Variables" button in the Editor toolbar.
3. Find the Cross-sell text field in the Store Properties section of the Variables page.
4. Enter or edit the text to appear (such as "Other Items You May Like").
5. Click "Update".
6. Click "Publish" to publish your change to your store.

To change the Cross-sell text in the Cross-Sell Manager:

1. From the Store Manager, click the "Cross-Sell" link in the Promote column.
2. Enter or edit the text to appear (such as "Other Items You May Like") in the Cross-Sell Text field.
3. Click "Done".
4. Publish your Order Settings.
