You can choose to create the sitemap.xml file by accessing the "Search Engines" page from the Store Manager and enabling the sitemap.xml option. Once enabled, a new sitemap.xml file will be created and placed in the root directory each time your Store is published.

To enable and generate a sitemap:

1. From the Store Manager, click the "Search Engines" link in the Promote column.
2. Select Enabled in the "Enable and Submit Your Sitemap" to Search Engines section (see figure 1).
3. Click Done.
4. Publish your Order Settings.
5. Enter and publish the Store Editor.

Each time you publish, a new sitemap.xml file will be generated.
