When your store is set up for online credit card processing, you will see the transaction control panel at the bottom of individual order review pages (see A figure 1 and figure 2)

Figure 2: Transaction Control Panel before a sale
Just as you click the "Sale" button to process an order, you click the "Void Sale" or "Credit" button to void the sale of an existing order (do not submit the sale in a batch), or apply a credit to a sale already submitted in a batch. Before deciding whether "Void Sale" or "Credit" is appropriate for an order, it is important to understand how batches are submitted.
Batches are a collection of daily transactions (sales and credits) submitted automatically each night. If you wish to submit a batch immediately, you can do so by clicking on the "Submit batch" link under the control panel for each order or on the Manual Transactions page of the Store Manager (see figure 3). Please note that the Manual Transactions feature is not available for all Yahoo! Merchant Solutions and Yahoo! Store accounts.

You can review batches that have already been sent by selecting the "Review batches" link, (found on the Manual Transaction page). It's not possible at this time to review a batch before it's sent.
Transaction Control Panel Buttons (PayPal)
- Capture funds - Click this button to capture the amount appearing in the Amount field. If successful, funds will be captured immediately and transferred to your PayPal account.
- Void Authorization - Click this button to void the authorization. This will release any authorization hold that may be placed on a buyer's credit card. Use this when you are cancelling an order.
- Reauthorize - Click this button to reauthorize the amount of the order. Note: reauthorization is not possible within the 3-day honor period set by PayPal. Use when you wish to ensure funds are available for capture or if you have adjusted the order total.
- Refund Transaction - Click this button to refund a transaction such as when a buyer returns an order or if you are unable to ship an order but have captured funds for the order automatically.
- Authorize (not shown) - Click this button to authorize an order before trying to capture funds. If this is the only button appearing in the transaction control panel, you will need to authorize the order first before you will see buttons to capture funds.
Transaction Control Panel Buttons (Bank of America Merchant Services/FDMS Nashville compatible merchant account)
- Sale - Click this button to submit the charge appearing in the Amount field. The charge will be submitted to a daily batch that will be sent to the Yahoo! Store Payment Gateway (FDMS) and then to the cardholder's bank and your merchant account provider for processing.
- Void Sale - (appears only after a "Sale" transaction) Click this button to void the sale previously placed in the batch. Note: The "Void Sale" button only removes a sale transaction from a pending batch. If the batch containing that sale transaction has already been sent, you need to perform a credit transaction to cancel out that sale.
- Credit - Click this button to apply a credit to the credit card used in the transaction. If you wish to void a sale, but the batch has already been submitted, you will need to issue a credit.
To void a sale:
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to the Store Manager.
- Click the "Orders" link.
- View the order that you wish to void.
- Click the "Void Sale" button.
The sale will be removed from the batch. Note: You can only void a sale from a batch that has not been submitted. If you are able to review the batch with the Sale transaction, then the batch has been submitted and you will have to issue a credit instead.
To issue a credit:
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to the Store Manager.
- Click the "Orders" link.
- View the order in which you wish to issue a credit.
- Click the "Credit" button.
A credit will be submitted to the daily batch of transactions. If you wish to push the credit through immediately, you can submit the batch by clicking the "Submit batch" link.
