You can set up an email alert to notify you automatically if a customer's email address "bounces" and the customer does not receive an order-confirmation or status-update email at the address they provided to you. Here's how:
To enable the email bounce feature: click on the "Shipment Status" link under "Order Settings" in your Store Manager. Then, in the "address for bounce messages" field, enter the email address where you would like the bounced messages delivered. Be sure to "Publish" this new order setting in the Store Manager interface to enable this feature on your live store.
If you do not want to receive undeliverable email messages leave the "address for bounced messages" field blank.
Please note:
1. Although it is a common practice to send notification of undeliverable mail, not all email providers send a notification or "bounce" when an email is undeliverable.
2. Some email providers do not send the bounce message for several hours.
3. Some email providers will not return the bounced message because the send address is not the same as the reply or bounce message address.
Any changes made to the email bounce field will be available once you publish your order settings on the Store Manager interface.
