Note: The following document applies only to merchants that signed up prior to 04/12/2006 have access to the version 1 and 2 checkout flows.
While the Checkout Manager offers many improvements over checkout flows managed through the Order Form link, there are several features that have been deprecated and will no longer be available in Checkout Manager. Also, there are fields and features that will need to be recreated in Checkout Manager if merchants wish to enable their custom checkout flow with the same fields and functionality available in Order Forms.
Non-transferred settings
The following features/functionality will need to be recreated in your custom checkout pages:
Deprecated features
The following features are deprecated and not available in Checkout Manager:
- multiple ship-to addresses: Merchants no longer have the ability to offer shoppers the ability to ship parts of orders to multiple addresses. Merchants can add messaging to their pages asking shoppers to place one order per shipping address.
- norder page: Merchants no longer modify the shopping cart page using the Store Editor.
- persistent cart when signed in to Yahoo!: Previously buyers that were signed in to Yahoo! and added items to a cart but did not complete checkout could return at any time to the cart, which would be saved. Now any shopper, regardless of sign in, can return within two weeks to a previously saved shopping cart.
- persistent downloadable goods link: Previously buyers purchasing a download good could download an item indefinitely. Now buyers will be required to re-enter their credit card information for verification purposes to regain access to the download link.
- download button in navigation bar (generated by Store Editor): This feature previously applied to the version 1 and version 2 checkout flows only. Merchants should remove these links from their store. Customers should now be directed to use the link included in their order confirmation email to access the order status page, where the downloadable product can then be downloaded.
Note to Store Tags users: Order buttons that are not generated by the Store Editor or Store Tags must be changed manually in order for those buttons to point to your custom checkout pages. You will need to change the url to point to order.store.yahoo.net rather than to order.store.yahoo.com.
