Benefits of Custom Checkout

Checkout Manager has been designed to provide the features and functionality that merchants have requested. Merchants can now have greater control over the pages in their checkout flow and apply a visual treatment to checkout pages that matches the rest of their site. There are also advanced features for incorporating additional custom fields, HTML, and Java Script.

  • Choose a checkout flow to best maximize your conversion rate:
    • Choose a single page or multi-page checkout flow.
    • Ability to show or hide the Order Review page.
    • Ability to combine shipping and billing information on one page.
  • Customize the visual appearance of checkout pages including:
    • font—choose color and font type.
    • text links—choose color and font type.
    • buttons—choose between standard HTML, CSS, image, and text links.
    • progress indicator—choose CSS graphics or upload custom images.
    • Download, edit and upload a custom CSS file to exercise more control over the design of your checkout pages.
  • More control over the structure of checkout pages
    • Add HTML to header, side bar and footer regions of the checkout pages you select "wrapping" the main content area without requiring RTML template modifications.
    • Floating Cart location (top or right side)—displays item quantity, name, and price, as well as subtotal, shipping charge, tax and grand total.
  • Add features for your checkout pages to help increase conversion rates
    • Shipping and Coupon calculator in shopping cart—allow your buyers to enter their zip/postal code and select shipping methods, or enter coupon codes, to get a final price before needing to go to the Shipping or Billing pages in checkout.
    • Control over the total number of cross-sell items to display—increase the total number of cross-sell items displayed in your shopping cart.
    • Ability to add custom fields to your checkout process and edit the field label of all fields and field type of some standard fields.
    • Shopping Cart persistence (buyers can return to view cart contents for 2 weeks)—currently buyers not signed in to Yahoo! lost their cart info upon leaving. Now any buyer can return to a purchase up to two weeks later.
  • Advanced features for merchants integrating with 3rd-party applications
    • Ability to add HTML and JavaScript to the Head section of checkout pages.
    • Access order data via JavaScript.
