Making fields required to checkout

With the ability to add new fields and edit many standard fields, Checkout Manager also allows you to control whether fields are required in order to complete checkout. If a buyer attempts to check out and has not entered a value or selected an option for the field, they will see an error message asking them to complete the form before submitting.

Merchants should be cautious when adding required fields to checkout as too many fields may impact the conversion rate of shoppers.

To make a field required in checkout:

  1. From the Checkout Manager main page, click the "Page Configuration" link.
  2. Click the tab of the page where you wish to make the field required.
  3. Select the field you wish to make required from the "Manage Sections and Fields" section and click "Edit".
  4. Click the "Next" button.
  5. Select the "Required Field" check box.
  6. Click "Save" when finished or click "Preview" to save and view your changes.
  7. Return to the Store Manager and publish your changes when ready.
