Hiding a section/field

You have the ability to hide some standard sections/fields (not required to complete checkout) and all custom fields you have created. Hiding sections/fields results in those sections/fields not being displayed to buyers in your checkout pages though you can still see and edit them in Checkout Manager. In this way you can create and keep sections/fields that you use only at certain times (such as with promotions) without having to delete and recreate them each time.

Fields that appear disabled in the Page Sections table cannot be hidden (such as the name, street address 1 and postal/zip code fields all of which are required to collect a complete shipping address with the order).

Figure 1: Page Configuration > Page Sections. Standard sections and fields that can and can't be hidden. Check boxes that are enabled (not grayed out) and selected, represent hidden sections or fields. Check boxes that are disabled (grayed out) represent sections or fields that can not be hidden.

To hide a section/field:

  1. From the Checkout Manager, select the "Page Configuration" link.
  2. Click the tab for the page with the section/field you wish to hide.
  3. Select the checkbox in the "Hide" column of the Page Sections table for the section/field you wish to hide.
  4. Click "Save" when finished or click "Preview" to save and view your changes.
  5. If you wish to not display the section/field you hid, return to the Store Manager and publish your order settings.

You can preview the page to see what the page looks like without the section/field you selected.
