The variables in the Store Properties section regulate specific aspects of the ordering and checkout process; Legacy Stores may see a few additional variables. Some examples:
Store Properties Variables include:
Email (3.0 Editor only): Enter the email address at which customers should contact you. This email address is used on the About Us/Info page. Consult the Business Mail help for more information.
Price-style: Select a style from the drop-down menu for displaying prices:
Regular-price-text: Enter text to appear before regular price of an item. For example,"everyday low price".
Sale-price-text: Enter text to appear before the sale price if the item is on sale. For example, "Spring super-saver price" or "Sale price".
Design Tip: You can also upload an image in place of, or in addition to, the text for either the regular-price-text or sales-price-text. Simply include the proper HTML (for example, <img src="http://www.your-domain.com/images/image-name.gif">) to reference the image in your Web Hosting files (or Store Editor files for Legacy Store merchants). Update and publish to apply this change to all pages using these variables.
Order-style: Select a style for text appearing with the Order button:
Secure-basket: Use the drop-down menu to select https secure mode checkout (yes) or standard http (no) for your shopping cart. Secure checkout takes slightly longer to load but buyers may feel more secure placing orders through this mode.
Compound-name: Use the drop-down menu to select yes or no. When "Compound-name" is set to "Yes", then your accessory items will have their Names displayed in the shopping cart and on the Order Form (and in your Order information) in the following format:
Each accessory can only be associated with one "Main Item Name" in your Store, so if you have "Compound-name" set to "Yes", you will find that accessories that you have pasted to several different items will always display the same "Main Item Name", regardless of where the customer actually pressed the order button for that accessory item.
The "Main Item Name" used for an accessory is the most recent page into which the accessory has been placed, so if you use the "Copy" command to copy a reference to an accessory and paste that reference into another page, the "Main Item Name" will change for that accessory. When "Compound-name" is set to "No", then only the actual Name of the accessory will be displayed.
Design Tip: Due to the issue of accessories showing the main item name of the most recent page to which they were added, you should most likely set the compound-name variable to "no". This may help prevent buyer confusion if they see a main item name in the shopping cart other than the one which they with to order.
Order-text: Enter text to appear on the Order button. For example, "Add to Cart" or "Buy this item".
Show-order-text: Enter text to appear on the Show-Order button in your navigation bar that takes shoppers to the shopping cart. For example, "View basket" or "My Items".
Families (Legacy Stores only): Names of families of related items (for cross-selling) separated by spaces.
Cross-sell-text: Enter text to appear above cross-sell items in your shopping cart. For example, "Related Items" or "Products You May Also Want". More info on cross-selling.
Design Tip: You can also upload an image in place of, or in addition to, the text for the cross-sell-text. Simply include the proper HTML (for example, <img src="http://www.your-domain.com/images/image-name.gif">) to reference the image in your Web Hosting files (or Store Editor files for Legacy Store merchants). Update and publish to apply this change to all pages using this variable. Keep in mind that the cross-sell-text variable applies only to version 1 (old) and version 2 (new) checkout and not to custom checkout. For custom checkout, you can follow the same procedure by adding HTMl code for the image to the Cross Sell Text field in the Cross-Sell Manager.
Currency (Deprecated): Formerly used to enter the currency mark to precede all prices in your store. Note: This only controlled the character displayed with prices. All prices are only calculated in US dollars and all transaction fees are based on US dollar prices.
Thousands-mark (Advanced mode only*): Enter the character to separate thousands in large numbers. By default, Yahoo! Store uses a comma character. Stores selling predominantly to customers outside the U.S. may wish to use a period instead.
Decimal-mark (Advanced mode only*): Enter the character to denote the decimal place. By default, Yahoo! Store uses a period character. Stores selling predominantly to customers outside the U.S. may wish to use a comma instead.
Quantity-text (Advanced mode only*): Enter text to separate the quantity and prices when doing quantity pricing (for example 3/$10, 5/$15). Learn more about quantity pricing.
Minimum-order: Enter an amount to represent the minimum order amount that must be reached before a customer is allowed to enter the checkout process. By default this amount is set to zero. Stores which sell mostly low margin items may wish to set an order minimum. Note: You should inform customers of the order minimum on your item pages so they are aware of this policy.
Minimum-quantity: Enter a number to represent the minimum number of an item that can be ordered. If other than 1, you should inform your customers of this policy.
Availability: Use the drop-down menu to display the availability of items to customers in the shopping cart. Options range from "not selected" which displays no message, to various ship dates, to "contact us for availability". The availability message appears as part of the item's contents (unless "not set" is selected). You may wish override this variable for individual items which you may have trouble keeping in stock.
Need-ship: Use the drop-down menu to select whether customers are required to enter a shipping address during checkout (yes) or whether a shipping address is not required (no) when selling downloadable goods, subscriptions, or donations.
Need-bill: Use the drop-down menu to select whether customers are required to enter billing address information during checkout (yes) or whether billing address information is not required (no) in the case of free items. Need-bill is set to yes by default. In most cases you will override this variable for the few free items you may offer.
Need-payment: Use the drop-down menu to select whether customers are required to enter payment information during checkout (yes) or whether payment information is not required (no) in the case of free items. Need-payment is set to yes by default. In most cases you will override this variable for the few free items you may offer or for items that are free, billed later, or shipped COD.
Note: For Checkout & Registration Manager, the Pay Methods section will still be displayed if an order contains any item that is not free, or the order includes any tax or shipping charges.
Personalization-charge: Enter an amount to be charged for items with monogram or inscription options as defined in the Options field of the item. More info on monograms and inscriptions.

Note: This field is located in Custom variables for merchants using Editor 2.0.
Note: Variables marked "Advanced mode only" can only be accessed by switching the Store Editor to Advanced mode (by clicking the red arrow on the Editor toolbar and then accessing the Variables page. Entering invalid characters into these fields can cause problems so exercise caution before deciding to alter the default settings for these variables.
