Button Properties Variables

The Variables in the Button Properties section regulate the appearance of the navigation bar buttons and let you use custom images in place of default buttons. The Button Properties are:

If you can create a custom button using image processing software, you can upload it into any of the Button Properties Image fields. Store Editor can use this image instead of the default buttons, as shown in figure 1. The Button-style Variable must be set to "Icon" for your button image to display.

Figure 1: Note how the navigation bar width increases to accommodate the size of the largest uploaded button image. Note also that the contents links in the navigation bar are not images. You upload the images for section pages using the Icon field on section pages.

Button-style: Use the drop-down menu to select a button style. Styles include
(see figure 2):

  • Text – flat button with text only
  • Solid – standard button with flat text
  • Incised – standard button with text that appears recessed in the button
  • Icon – uses images uploaded to the standard button fields and icon field for Contents pages

Figure 2: Button styles compared. The "Solid" and "Incised" styles are identical except that the text for the Incised style has a dark shadow underneath giving the text a beveled appearance. The "text" style shows an example where the "button color" field and "edge color" field have the same color value giving the appearance of no buttons—only text.

Nav-buttons: Click "Change" to add, remove, or reorder buttons appearing in your navigation bar.

Customers should now be directed to use the link included in their order confirmation email to access the order status page, where they can download the downloadable item purchased.
  • Email: creates a "mailto" link that opens the default email client when clicked; useful for adding a shortcut to your customer service email address for customers to use when they have questions.
  • Empty: creates an empty button; useful for adding a space between Contents and Standard navigation buttons
  • Help: links to http://store.yahoo.com/help.html which has information for shoppers
  • Index: links to the site index (site map)
  • Info: links to the required Info page at http://store.yahoo.com/account-id_or_account-name /info.html

  • Privacypolicy: links to the required privacy policy page at http://store.yahoo.com/account-id_or_account-name/privacypolicy.html
