You can configure special options for any item if you wish to offer a monogram or inscription(s) for an item. You can also associate a charge for monograms or inscriptions for items.

Monograms
If you put the word "Monogram" (be sure to use a capital M) on a line by itself, it will create a special option box for a three-letter monogram.

You can set up the ordering system to charge extra for monograms by changing the value of the variable called "Personalization-charge." By default, this charge is set at zero (no charge). If you enter a number as the "Personalization- charge," this additional charge will appear in parentheses next to the Monogram field on the item page. The charge is not applied if no monogram information is provided by the shopper.

To add a monogram for an item

1. From the Store Manager, do one of the following:
   • If you build using the Store Editor, go to the item to which you wish to add the monogram option.
   • If you build using Store Tags (in SiteBuilder, Dreamweaver, or another application), go to the item in Catalog Manager to which you wish to add the monogram option.
2. Enter the word "Monogram" (note the capital "M").
3. Store Tag users only: Add the "options" Store Tag to your item page if it is not already present.
4. Publish your changes (Store Editor or Catalog Manager depending on your choice of building tool).

Inscriptions
To create an "Inscription" that lets shoppers enter more than three letters, create an option that has "Inscription" (be sure to use a capital I) as the second word. For example, if you have a line reading

"Engraved on back" Inscription 12

To add an inscription for an item

1. From the Store Manager, do one of the following:
   • If you build using the Store Editor, go to the item to which you wish to add the inscription option.
   • If you build using Store Tags (in SiteBuilder, Dreamweaver, or another application), go to the item in Catalog Manager to which you wish to add the inscription option.
2. Enter a word or words enclosed in quotation marks to precede the field where buyers enter their inscription(for example "Engraved on back".
3. Enter the word "Inscription" (note the capital "I") followed by the number of characters buyers are allowed to enter. For example if you allow 20 characters, your option input may read
   "Engraved on back" Inscription 20.
4. Store Tag users only: Add the "options" Store Tag to your item page if it is not already present.
5. Publish your changes (Store Editor or Catalog Manager depending on your choice of building tool).

The "Personalization-charge" for inscriptions works the same way as the monogram charge. By default, this charge is set at zero (no charge). If you enter a number as the "Personalization- charge," this additional charge will appear in parentheses next to the Inscription field on the item page. The charge is not applied if no inscription information is provided.

• You can create other options to go along with the Monogram or Inscription personalizations, such as an item that comes in several styles and also offers a monogram or inscription option.
• You can include multiple inscriptions. Enter each inscription on a new line.
• Quantity pricing will continue to work with personalizations.
