If the HTML that you added to your store page has even a simple error (such as a missing quotation mark), it can affect the presentation of the page beneath it. Bad HTML may even prevent you from editing a page containing faulty HTML.
There are two ways within your Store Editor to edit a page that contains invalid HTML. Here's the first approach:
- You can move the Editing Toolbar to the top of your pages. To do this, sign in to your store and go to the Advanced Editor, then click the "Config" button on the Editing Toolbar.
- On this page, set the Edit-button-position field to "Top". Click [Update], then select [Contents] on the toolbar. To exit the Editor, select "Index" (at the top of the outline) to take you back to your store front page.
- If you know the ID of the page you need to edit, you can click directly on the pageID itself. This will put you back in your store with the Editing Toolbar at the top, which will allow you to edit the damaged page, and either fix or remove the bad HTML.
If this does not work, here's a second approach:
- Sign in to the Advanced Editor.
- Click on the "Controls" button and select the "Edit by ID" link. This pageID editing feature takes you directly to an editable version of the specific page without actually displaying the broken page.
