Uploading files to reference in HTML

It is possible to upload multimedia files including images, html, Flash, and other types of media to the File Manager in the Web Hosting portion of a Merchant Solutions account. Legacy Store merchants can upload files to the "Files" area in the Store Editor.

For information on uploading to the File Manager of your Merchant Solutions account please see:

File Manager Help

To upload a file to your Files area (Legacy Stores only):

  1. Sign in to the Advanced Editor for your store.

  2. Click the [Files] button on the Editing Toolbar.

  3. Click the [Upload] button that appears on your Files page.

  4. Enter the full file name (including drive letter) of the file you wish to upload in the appropriate input box, or use the [Browse] button to search for the file on your computer.

  5. In the second input box on the Upload page, enter a name for the file you're uploading as you want the file name to appear on our servers. The file name you choose should begin and end with a letter or number. You can also use periods (.) and hyphens (-) within the file name you choose.

You should also be sure to include the proper file-type extension (such as .jpg for a JPEG image file) in the file name you create so that browser software will know what type of file it is.

If you attempt to upload a file and give it a file name that contains any characters other than letters, numbers, periods, or hyphens, the file will upload, but it will not appear in your Files area. If this happens, you'll need to upload the file again and assign it a file name that meets the requirements described above.

  6. Once you've indicated which file you wish to upload, and you've entered the proper file name, click the [Send] button to send the file. You should then see the file name appear as part of a URL on your Files page. You can use that URL to reference the file in any links you create within your store.

  7. You will need to publish your store in the editor for any new files you've uploaded to be available through your published store.
