mailbox
A mailbox is the repository into which email associated with one or more email addresses is sent — essentially a private, virtual inbox that receives and stores email until you delete it. Each mailbox must have a unique email address, but — if you have a Business Mail plan — it can also receive and store mail sent via an alias, which acts as an extra address for that mailbox.

mailing list
A mailing list is a list of email addresses used to send the same message to a group of individuals. When customers make purchases at your online store, they can enter an email address to receive correspondence about their order and special offers from your company. With a Merchant Solutions plan, we'll automatically maintain these addresses as a secure mailing list for you, which you can use to send newsletters or marketing emails. Learn more.

Manage My Services page
When you sign in to your account at http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/services, you'll arrive on the Manage My Services page (also called the Business Control Panel). From here, you can manage all of the features associated with your Small Business plan — your billing information, domain tools, email features, and more. Note that this page is available only to owners of a Small Business plan; if you're an administrator of a Business Mail account, the Manage My Services link will take you to the Yahoo! Small Business home page.

Maps
Maps is an add-on available to all users that allows you display a Yahoo! map on your web site. When you set up Maps, you enter a destination address and create a "Show Map" button; your site visitors can click this button to locate the address you specified on a map. You can use Maps to provide a personalized way for your visitors to locate your business or other destination. Learn more about add-ons.

masked forward
A masked forward is a type of domain forwarding that allows you to conceal the web address of your destination web site. This type of forwarding "masks" the fact that your visitor has been redirected to a different web site, allowing you to easily set up an alternative web address for a web site with a less desirable domain name. Please note that at this time, using masked forwarding with a Yahoo! Domains plan will cause a Yahoo! ad to appear in the frame of the destination web site. Learn more.

megabyte
A megabyte equals about 1,000 kilobytes (actually, 1,024KB), and approximately 1,000,000 bytes. A byte is the smallest unit of data measurement in computers. The following conversions will give you an idea of how big a megabyte is:

1,000 bytes (B) = 1 kilobyte (KB)
1,000 kilobytes (KB) = 1 megabyte (MB)
1,000 megabytes (MB) = 1 gigabyte (GB)

Yahoo! Web Hosting and Merchant Solutions measures disk space and data transfer in megabytes.

merchandising tools

merchant account
A merchant account is provided by a bank, or a third party processor on behalf of a bank, and allows a merchant to authorize credit cards transactions and settle funds through bank associations (such as MasterCard or Visa). To open your online store for business, you must have a merchant account (we've partnered with PayPal Website Payments Pro, the Yahoo! Merchant Solutions preferred provider, and First Data™, to make it easy to apply online). If you already have a merchant account or would like to choose a different merchant account provider, you can use any bank compatible with First Data Merchant Services' Nashville platform (formerly known as Envoy). Learn more.

meta tags
Meta tags are little bits of HTML code that provide information about a page but are not viewable by the user in a browser. Most search engines examine a page's meta tags, which usually include a page title, description, and keywords, to index the page and help determine its ranking in relevant search results. Although not the only way to elevate your site's search engine rankings, adding meta tags to your pages can help. Learn more.

moblog
Moblog, which derives from the words mobile and blog, refers to blog content posted from a mobile device such as a cellular phone or PDA. You can use moblogging to post to a WordPress or Yahoo! 360∞ blog.
