email
Email, or electronic mail, refers to a message or messages sent from one computer to another over a network (email also signifies the process of transmitting these messages). When you choose a Yahoo! ID and password, you'll get access to Yahoo!'s free email service. You can also take advantage of Yahoo! Business Email or Personal Address, both of which allow you to create personalized email addresses based on your own web address.

email account
An email account is, technically, a password-protected repository for email where a user can receive, access, and store mail. A Business Email plan allows you to create up to 2,000 individual email accounts, each with unlimited email storage and an address that matches your domain. Learn more about Business Email.

email address
An email address is a unique address (such as linda@learn2yoga.com) used to receive and send email. An email address may correspond to an inbox, where you store and retrieve your messages, or (for Business Mail users only) an alias, which acts as an extra address for an email user. Learn more.

email forwarding
With a Yahoo! Domains plan, you'll get email forwarding, a feature that allows you to set up an email address that includes your domain name, such as jane@learn2yoga.com. Messages sent to this address will be delivered to your free Yahoo! Mail inbox. Learn more.

Email Control Panel
From the Email Control Panel you can control every feature of your Business Email service — including editing your email address, checking email, setting a catch-all mailbox, finding your POP settings, and more. If you're a Web Hosting customer with Business Mail, you can access your Email Control Panel by clicking the Email tab in your Web Hosting Control Panel; Merchant Solutions customers can click the "Email Control Panel" link on their Business Control Panel.

Email Forms
One of Yahoo! Web Hosting's suite of add-ons, Email Forms are simple, customizable documents that you can add to your web pages to solicit feedback or other information from your site visitors. With Email Forms, you can easily set up a contact form, survey, questionnaire, or comments form and receive your visitors' responses via email. Learn more.

email marketing
Email marketing is direct marketing through targeted emails, and can be an effective way to sell your products or services to potential customers. As a Yahoo! Web Hosting customer, you can save on email marketing tools from Got Campaigner™, which allow you to create basic or advanced campaigns in HTML or text, send them to a targeted permission-based list, and view online reports to measure your campaign's success. Learn more.

Email tab
The Email tab is a quick way to access your Email Control Panel, where you can control every feature of your Business Email service. If you're a Web Hosting customer using Business Mail, you can access the Email tab directly from your Web Hosting Control Panel.

email user
An email user is anyone to whom you've given an email account at your domain. Each account comes with an email address, such as mary@learn2yoga.com, and an inbox with unlimited email storage. You can also give your email users additional email addresses, called aliases. Messages sent to these addresses will be delivered directly to the user's inbox. Available only in Business Mail. export order information
When a customer submits an order, you can automatically export the order information to your own software, such as accounting, tax, shipping, or inventory management tools. This can maximize infrastructure investments you've already made, speed your business processes, and eliminate duplication of effort. Available in Merchant Standard and Merchant Professional plans. Learn more about ordering.

extension (domain)
A domain extension is the suffix at the end of a domain name, such as .com, .net., or .edu. If your domain name is widgetdesigns.com, for example, your domain extension is .com. Each extension represents a web site category or a country. The extension .org, for example, stands for organization and is typically used by noncommercial web sites. Extensions like .uk (United Kingdom) and .ca (Canada) are used in domain names registered in their respective countries. Learn more.

extension (server)
See server extension.

external email account
An external email account is an email account hosted on computers not associated with Yahoo! (such as an Outlook Express account). If you're using Business Email, you can manage your external accounts directly from your Business Email mailbox. Learn more.
