Your registry key is a unique code assigned to your domain name by your current registrar. Much like a PIN or other password, your registry key — like your domain authorization code — is designed to prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transfers of your domain.
If you are transferring your domain away from Yahoo! to another registrar, you generally won't need a registry key to complete your transfer; usually you'll need only your domain authorization code, which you can find on your Domain Control Panel. Learn how to find your authorization code.
Your current registrar can always provide your registry key. If your domain is registered through Yahoo!, and you need your registry key, please contact us for assistance.
