Why would I need to reset the Yahoo! SpamGuard Plus filter?

If you feel like Yahoo! SpamGuard Plus is persistently misdirecting valid messages into the Spam folder, or putting spam messages into your Inbox or personal folders, reset the filter. This allows you to start "training" Yahoo! SpamGuard Plus from scratch.

To reset your Yahoo! SpamGuard Plus filter:

  1. Click "Options" in the upper-right corner of the page, then choose "Mail Options" from the pull-down menu.

  2. On the page that opens, click "Spam" in the left navigation pane.

  3. On the Spam page, click the "Reset Filter" link next the "Automatically send suspected spam to my Spam Folder" option. When this box is unchecked, SpamGuard Plus is off.

  4. Click "Save Changes" to save your settings.

Tip: After you've reset your filter, be sure to click the "Spam" button whenever a junk message arrives in your Inbox or personal folder; this will begin retraining Yahoo! SpamGuard Plus.
