Microsoft Entourage 2001 and Higher

To configure the Microsoft Entourage email client for Macintosh, please follow these steps (click the right-arrow button at the bottom of each panel to continue):

  1. Open the Entourage email client (program) and click the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Accounts" from the pull-down menu.

  3. Click the "New" button in the top left corner of the "Accounts" window.
  4. Enter your name as you would like it to appear to the recipient.
  5. Click the right arrow to go to the next screen.
  6. Click the radio button next to "I already have an email address that I'd like to use."
  7. Enter your Yahoo! Business Email address in the field provided (for example, linda@learn2yoga.com).
  8. Enter pop.bizmail.yahoo.com (your incoming mail server) in the field provided.
  9. Click "Click here for advanced receiving options" in the "Receiving mail" section.
  10. Check the box next to "This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL)."
  11. Enter smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com (your outgoing, or SMTP, mail server) in the field provided.
  12. Click "Click here for advanced sending options" in the "Sending mail" section.
  13. Check the box next to "SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL), " and click "OK."
  14. Check the box next to "Override default SMTP port:," and enter "465" in the box.
  15. Check the box next to "SMTP server requires authentication," and click "OK."
  16. In the "Account ID" field, enter your Yahoo! ID.
  17. Enter your password.
  18. To have the Entourage client remember your password so you won't need to enter it each time you send or receive mail, check the "Remember password" box.
  19. Enter your full Yahoo! Business Email address in the "Account Name" field.
  20. Click "Finish."

Important: The Yahoo! SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on, follow these steps:

  1. Open Entourage and click the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Accounts" from the pull-down menu.
  3. Double-click your Yahoo! Business Email account.
  4. On the Account Settings window, scroll down to the "Sending Mail" category.
  5. Click on "Click Here for Advanced Sending Options."
  6. Check the box next to "SMTP Server Requires Authentication."

  7. Close this window by clicking the tiny box in the upper left corner.
  8. Click "OK."

To ensure the new settings are configured properly, we suggest that you close Entourage and open it again before attempting to send or receive messages.
