IncrediMail Build 618 and Higher

IncrediMail allows you to set up multiple email accounts, so you don't have to replace your current POP and SMTP settings in order to send and receive new Yahoo! Business Email messages.

  1. From the IncrediMail main window, click on the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts."
  2. Click on the "Add" button to create a new email account.
  3. The account wizard will open. Select the preference "Let me configure settings myself" and click "Next."
  4. Insert your name (as you would like it to appear on the emails you send) and your Yahoo! Business Email address (you@widgetdesigns.com). Click "Next."
  5. IncrediMail will attempt to automatically fill out the email server settings for you.
  6. Enter or verify that your incoming and outgoing servers are set as follows:

    Incoming mail server: pop.bizmail.yahoo.com
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com

  7. The next dialog will request that you enter your Yahoo! ID and password.
  8. Click "Finish."
  9. Back on the Mail Accounts window, select the Yahoo! Mail account you just created and click the "Properties" button.
  10. Select the "Advanced" tab
  11. Under "Outgoing mail (SMTP)", check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)." Enter port number "465" in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" field.
  12. Under "Incoming mail (POP3)," check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)." The port number in the "Incoming mail (POP3)" field should automatically change from 110 to 995. If it doesn't, make sure to change the port number to 995.

Important: The Yahoo! SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on, follow these steps:

  1. From the Mail Accounts window, select your Yahoo! Business Email account and click on "Properties."
  2. Click the "Servers" tab.
  3. Click the "My server requires authentication" field.
  4. Click "OK."

To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! server:

  1. From the IncrediMail main window, click on the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts."
  2. Select your Yahoo! Business Email account and click on "Properties."
  3. Click on "Advanced" tab.
  4. Check the "Leave a copy of messages on server" field.
  5. Click "OK."

A copy of the messages will now be left on the Yahoo! server, allowing you to read your email using both POP and the Yahoo! interface.
