Netscape versions 4.5 to 7.2 included a built in email client. Later versions of Netscape (after 4.7) allowed you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means that you did not have to replace your existing settings in order to send and receive Yahoo! Business Email messages.
In 2005, when AOL/Netscape released Netscape Browser 8 which did not include an email client, the last version with a mail client, version 7.2, became unsupported.
In 2007, Netscape developed a new e-mail client, Netscape Messenger 9. AOL, which owned Netscape, discontinued support for Netscape Messenger 9 in 2008.
