I'm getting a "Secure Account Blocked" message. What's wrong?

To protect your privacy, we "block" secure areas of Yahoo! when:

  • An invalid security key is entered five times in sequence
  • A request for a new security key fails

We do this to help prevent others from breaking into your sensitive data.

If your account is blocked, you need to request a new security key to re-activate your account.

On the screen that says your secure account has been blocked, follow the instructions to request a new security key.

Note: When your secure account is blocked, only areas protected by a security key are inaccessible. You can still use your Yahoo! ID and password to access all other features of Yahoo! (such as My Yahoo!, Yahoo! Mail, and Yahoo! Chat)
