How do I search for local information?

Yahoo! Search helps you find local business listings in three quick ways.

Shortcuts

For example, to find pizza in Palo Alto, enter:

Example:

Above your search results, you'll see the names and addresses of up to three of the nearest pizza parlors, with links to more local listings.

Something to remember: The ZIP code must come first in the search box.

Search Results Page
You can switch from web search to Local search by clicking the “Local” link above the search box. This takes you to a Local results page that brings together the best of Yahoo! Yellow Pages, Yahoo! Maps, and Yahoo! Search. For example, a Local search can pin point the names and numbers of local bookstores as well as public transportation routes, ATMs, and any museums near by. Use the options in the left column of the Local results page to refine your search further.

If you don't specify a new locale for your search, Local uses the last location you searched. To return to web search use the Yahoo! link in the upper-left corner on the Local search results page.
