Yahoo!'s SafeSearch feature is designed to filter out explicit, adult-oriented content from Yahoo! Search results. Though Yahoo! cannot guarantee that all explicit content will be recognized and removed from your results, your search results are filtered to remove possibly objectionable material. SafeSearch can be set to one of three modes:

  • Strict: Filters out adult Web, video, and image search results
  • Moderate: Filter out adult video and image search results only.
  • Off: Does not filter search results

Setting SafeSearch:

You can select the preferred setting in the "Preferences" section of Yahoo! Search (click the "more ››" link located above the search box to see the Preferences link). By default, it is set to "Moderate". Additionally, the preference setting can be password protected so you can be assured that any time your computer is in use, the results are filtered.

Note: Yahoo! SafeSearch cannot guarantee that all explicit content will be recognized and filtered out of your results.
