Replace an article

Your browser “homepage” is the webpage that you see each time you open a new browser window. To personalize yours and set Yahoo! as your homepage, follow the instructions below for your browser.

Note: If your homepage setting changes and you did not reset it, your computer might be infected by spyware, adware or other harmful software and you must remove the spyware from your computer. Internet Explorer:
  1. Open an Internet Explorer browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Tools > Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the General tab.
  4. In the Home page text box, type the URL of the web page that you want to be your homepage. For example:
    • Type http://www.yahoo.com/ in the text box for the Yahoo! homepage.
    • Type http://search.yahoo.com/ in the text box for the Yahoo! Search homepage.
  5. Click OK.
The next time you open your browser it should open the page you entered.

Firefox:
  1. Open a Firefox browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Tools > Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Main tab.
  4. In the “Home Page” field, type the URL of the web page that you want to be your homepage. For example:
    • Type http://www.yahoo.com/ in the text box for the Yahoo! homepage.
    • Type http://search.yahoo.com/ in the text box for the Yahoo! Search homepage.
  5. Click OK.
The next time you open your browser it should open the page you entered.

Safari:
  1. Open a Safari browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Safari > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the General tab.
  4. In the “Home page” field, type the URL of the web page that you want to be your home page. For example:
    • Type http://www.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! homepage.
    • Type http://search.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! Search homepage.
  5. Click the red Close button.
The next time you open your browser it should open the page you entered.

Netscape:
  1. Open a Netscape browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Edit > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window Category list, click “Navigator” to view Navigator preferences.
  4. At Home page, in the “Location” field, type the URL of the web page that you want to be your home page. For example:
    • Type http://www.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! homepage.
    • Type http://search.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! Search homepage.
  5. Click OK.
The next time you open your browser it should open the page you entered.

For Opera:
  1. Open an Opera browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Tools > Preferences.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Startup drop-down menu, click “Start with home page.”
  5. In the "Home page" field, type the URL of the web page that you want to be your home page into the Address box. For example:
    • Type http://www.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! homepage.
    • Type http://search.yahoo.com/ to set the Yahoo! Search homepage.
  6. Click OK.
The next time you open your browser it should open the page you entered.
