If privacy is a concern, please take the time to ensure you did not elect to make any information about yourself public when you established your Yahoo! account. Users can elect to have information listed in Yahoo! People Search or can have public profiles. For more information about Yahoo! People Search, including how to have your information removed, please visit the Help pages for that service.

To remove a public profile, go to the profile edit page, click "Edit" beside each profile, and delete the information you do not want stored in the database.

Sometimes personal information is displayed when you engage in certain activities on Yahoo!. For example, your Yahoo! ID or alias will be publicly displayed if you use Yahoo! Chat or Yahoo! Message Boards or when you choose to participate in Yahoo! Auctions, among other activities. Remember that if you post personally identifiable information online that is accessible to the public, you could receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
