Our "Ask Yahoo! Help" search engine is equipped to answer natural language queries. So it knows the difference between "How can I change my password?" and "What is my password?". We recommend that you be as specific as possible while entering your queries. The more detailed the question the better the results.

How do I use the "Ask Yahoo! Help" search engine?

Its simple, from the Yahoo! Personals Help home page There is a text box located at the top of the page. Type your question into the text box and click the "Ask" button.

Here are some good sample questions which have ample information and are not vague such as:

  • How do I edit my profile?
  • How do I cancel my subscription?
  • How do I upload photos?
  • What is the profile approval process?

Vague questions that are likely to bring back vague answers:

  • IM
  • Account
  • Email

Only include concepts relevant to your question.

If your question contains irrelevant concepts, the engine is less likely to succeed in answering your question. For example, "I would like to upgrade to Yahoo! Personals Premier. How do I do this?" has extra concepts. Simply using "How do I upgrade to Yahoo! Personals Premier?" is more effective.

Spelling is important for a successful search.

If you aren't getting the results you want, double-check the spelling of your question.

Boolean operators like AND, NOT, and OR are not necessary, and are treated as words in your question rather than as logical operators.
