What is the Yahoo! News player?

The Yahoo! News player enhances the experience of watching videos by adding a data window with related Yahoo! News resources.

In order for the Yahoo! News Player to function, you need to have JavaScript enabled. Please see: Configuring your browser to use JavaScript.

Clicking on a video title or its related thumbnail photo automatically launches the player. The video window appears on the left. You can use the buttons directly below the video window to control the player. Below these controls is a link to "Change Settings." This launches Media Helper in a separate window where you can alter your default settings and then immediately return to the video player.

The data window appears on the right of the video window. The top portion displays the title of the video currently playing alongside its thumbnail photo. This top portion may also include links to other video resources. Below this is a scrollable window of other videos from the category (e.g., Top or World) that this video is drawn from. Clicking on one of these videos will cause the current video to be halted, and the player will load and play the new selection.

The Yahoo! News player will play both Windows Media and Real files, and you'll still need to have both players installed on your system. For more help on players, please see: Which audio and video players do I need?.
